In response to the restrictions placed on indoor activities due to COVID-19 related State and County Public Health Orders, the City of Tustin is pleased to announce the launch of the Temporary Outdoor Expansion Grant Program (Program) which will provide funding to assist eligible businesses such as restaurants and retailers (including gyms) to expand their outdoor areas and activities.
This Program will provide eligible businesses that have an approved and active Temporary Use Permit (TUP) issued since June 2, 2020 with a grant, up to $2,000, to pay for purchases or rentals of furniture, shade structures (with only one wall), decor, landscaping, lighting, fencing/barricades, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), outdoor dining ware or other items to support allowable outside activities.
Funding for the program is provided by the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act received through a disbursement from the State to the City. The City has allocated $100,000 for the Program, which will be open on a first-come, first serve basis for eligible businesses until funds have been expended.
Applications are now being accepted! More information on the Program, including guidelines and the application, can be found at www.tustinca.org/outdoorexpansiongrant.
