Tiller Days Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, October 1, 2016

Join Our Local Softball Team

The Tustin Chamber of Commerce is excited to present you with the opportunity to join our community softball team! On Wednesday nights, starting in September 2016 until December 2016, the team will play in a lower level league at Tustin Sports & Columbus Tustin Park. There are currently sixteen spots available in our roster. City of Tustin Recognizes Brian Penny

On June 21, 2016, the Tustin City Council recognized Brian Penny for his incredible service as Chairman of the Tustin Chamber of Commerce 2015-2016 Board. As his term came to a close, this acknowledgment awarded the on-going development Brian enacted as Chairman of the Tustin Chamber of Commerce Board and paved a path for future relations between the Tustin City Council and Chamber of Commerce. The Tustin Chamber of Commerce extends a warm thank you to the Tustin City Council for its affirmation on the progress and hard work we have achieved in the last year. We hope to continue this progress to enhance the relationships between businesses, non-profit organizations, the city government and the community at-large.

With only ten days away from a night filled with laughter, glamour and adventure, the Tustin Chamber of Commerce invites you to purchase your tickets before prices go up. The Masquerade and Casino Night will take place at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club (12442 Tustin Ranch Road, Tustin, CA 92782) on Friday, June 24, 2016. The Gala will begin at 6 PM and end at 11 PM.
For the current price of $75 dollars per person, attendees will receive $1000 dollars in casino chips as well as access to the delicious buffet options available that night.Ticket prices will increase after this Friday. Beginning on Saturday, June 18, 2016 tickets will cost $100 per person; we recommend you purchase your tickets as soon as possible since this is an event you do not want to miss.
Near the end of the night, one lucky winner will be recognized for wearing the most creative mask of the night. In addition, the Tustin Chamber of Commerce will announce its Business of the Year recipient(s) at the event – an honor bestowed upon a Tustin-based business or non-profit who has demonstrated integrity, community and excellence. State of the City Address

The City of Tustin and Tustin Chamber of Commerce invite you to attend the State of the City Address featuring the Honorable Mayor John Nielsen.

The event will take place at the Tustin Community Center at the Market Place, which you can find with the following address: 2961 El Camino Real, Tustin, CA 92782. The State of the City Address is on June 9th, 2016 from 5 pm – 7 pm. Early arrival is recommended.

A Weekend of Events

It was a busy week for Chamber members last week. Thursday PGA Tour Superstore held a mixer that was truly made for business. As most of us know the fairway is a place many business arrangements are made and PGA Superstore will help get you in the game. There was food for everyone, Beer, Sangria, Golf Lessons, Free Driving Range Sessions, a putting contest and many giveaways. It was a mixer like no other. On Friday the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic development held a workshop for small business on applying for the California Competes Tax Credit. The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development is travelling the state to inform businesses about the California Competes Tax Credit. It’s an incentive provided to businesses to promote job creation in the state of California. 25% of all funds are reserved for small businesses that make under $2 million in gross revenues. The tax credit is non-refundable, but can be carried forward for 6 years to offset any taxes owed on the business return to the Franchise Tax Board, and in some cases it can be passed through to the owner’s individual income tax return. The awards for the application period from July 20, 2015 – August 17th, 2015 will total $75 million. 62 people attended of which were several Chamber Members. Chamber Members Clark & Company provided coffee and were on hand to help answer tax related questions. The event took place at the Tustin Library’s Professional Training Center. Chamber attendees included CFO Emily Banks, Board Members Glen Hackler, Rand Sherff, George Strickland, Jerry Craig, and Cindy Brunner. Office Staff in attendance were Office Manager Juanita Jaros and Member Services Associate Lisa Gross. On Saturday Night, chamber member Wilcox Manor hosted an event to raise money for another chamber member, the Tustin Community Foundation. The theme was 1920’s murder mystery, and there was over 100 attendees. The party included a live auction, dinner and a show. TCF’s Erin McPherson Nielsen was in the cast as well as Wilcox Manor’s Michael Demoratz, Chamber CFO Emily Banks, and Chamber Member and Chick-fil-A owner Peter Brakke. Board Member Cindy Brunner’s daughter had a role as did Chuck Puckett, Tustin’s Mayor. This has been “THE MOST SUCCESSFUL TCF EVENT we have ever had!!!” according to Erin McPherson Nielsen. She went on to say “We raised $20,000!! Thank you to everyone who supported the Foundation with your generosity.
