Take Time to Celebrate
Recently, The Chamber hosted the monthly mixer at my business. We were celebrating both 5 years in business and a new, larger facility. We had a great time and it was a pleasure to see so many friendly faces, clients and vendors mingling over drinks and appetizers. It might seem like a small thing, but it reminded me of the importance of celebrating our successes and our milestones. Another member of the Chamber, Saddleback Chapel Mortuary is celebrating their 50th year in business. It’s a milestone we can all aspire to, to build a business that provides meaningful service to a community for a half century. I think celebrating a mortuary’s success is also a subtle and poignant reminder about just how temporal our existence is; all the more reason to celebrate life’s achievements.
In June, we’ll join several times to celebrate our good fortune. On June 2 the Chamber will join 30,000 of you to revel in great food, drink, music and fun at the Chili Cook-off and Street Fair. Later that week, on the 6th, we’ll convene at the State of the City Luncheon to hear Mayor Al Murray’s report on the doings of our city council (spoiler alert-Tustin is doing great!). And finally, on June 21st, the Chamber will hold our annual Gala. We’ll reflect on the past year, install the new board and I will pass the gavel to the very capable Dan Trznadel. After the official duties are done, we’ll turn our attention to the important celebration of the evening, our Business of the Year award winners. It’s a highlight of the event, and I am always so proud to be associated with the nominees-your friends and neighbors who work so hard to make Tustin such a great place to live!
June is a month of celebration: graduations, anniversaries, beginnings and endings. I hope to see you all, whether in shorts or Tuxedos, overalls or evening gowns-or both! Join your neighbors, family and friends to take a moment to celebrate!
