The Tustin Chamber held their annual Holiday Breakfast on Wednesday morning 12-12-2012. All the City Council members were in attendance as well as a great cross section of Tustin citizens. The Police Officer of the Month was honored and the Chamber was honored to hear the lovely voices of the Foothill Dickens Carolers. The Foothill Carolers have become a tradition at the annual breakfast and this year State Assemblyman Donald Wagner had Assembly certificates of recognition for each of the singers! Nice move Don. Holiday Mixer with Lots of Chambers! 2012

Tustin Chamber joined up with Santa Ana, Westminster and Fullerton Chambers to throw a Holiday party! Our new members the Santa Ana Elks lodge wanted a Ribbon Cutting and have a wonderful space for entertaining (see pictures below) so killing two birds with one stone we joined it all together and voila! A beautiful holiday party with a great venue, good food and fun people. There was a Santa contest (won by Tustin Mayor Pro-tem Chuck Puckett) and a raffle. Everyone had a good time and kicked off the Holiday season with cheer.

Sunny’s Foot Spa Ribbon Cutting – Nov 30, 2012

The Tustin business community as represented by the Tustin Chamber of Commerce welcomes Sunny’s Foot Spa! Seriously, if you dogs are barking and you need your feet tended to this is the place to go. November Monthly Membership Breakfast

The Tustin Chamber hosted their monthly membership breakfast at the Tustin Ranch Golf Course. Our speaker was Ms. Courtney C. Wiercioch the Deputy Director for Public Affairs for the John Wayne Airport. A very competent speaker, she informed us of the progress of the terminal and explained that John Wayne was now allowing flights to come from several international destinations (Mexico City, Guadalajara and Calgary). As always Chief Jordan awarded an Officer of the month plaque, this time to Tom Lomeli a deserving policeman. Check out the pics below.

Monthly Mixer with Santa Ana at Independence Bank

The Tustin Chamber organized with Santa Ana Chamber, a mixer hosted by Independence Bank. On the corner of 17th and Prospect in Tustin, Independence Bank is a great business bank with loyal employees that put out a great spread. Both Chambers brought some raffle gifts and everyone had a chance at winning! A good time was had by all, if you need a bank, don’t forget to check out Independence Bank! New Member Reception – October 2012

Every quarter or so the Tustin Chamber puts together a new member reception. The purpose is to highlight the new members and give them a chance to mix socially with the other new members and the Board, the Ambassadors, and the general membership. This time it was hosted by Don Jose’s Mexican Restaurant in Tustin on the corner of Holt and Newport Avenue. We welcome back Don Jose’s to being active in the Chamber! They put on a great spread and provided Margaritas for the crowd. What a great event!

Everyone got a chance to make self introductions (you know the elevators speeches that you all practice!) and to visit with the other new members. Chairman Stone and the Ambassadors did a great job of making the event special. Check out the pictures below.

2012 Tustin City Council Candidate Forum

The Tustin Chamber of Commerce continued its tradition of providing the citizens of Tustin with a non-partisan opportunity to view all the candidates for the Tustin City Council. The format provided the same questions for all candidates and the same time alloted to each to explain their answers. This well attended event was polite and all candidates had a chance to introduce themselves and their platform.

This Forum was broadcast on Public Access Channel 3 and recorded by Time Warner Cable for viewing again before the election. Pineapple Hill Saloon and Grill provided sandwiches and Iced Tea as a sponsor of the event. Below you can see the candidates and pictures of the events. October Membership Breakfast With Senator Mimi Walters 2012

Our membership breakfasts are always interesting and this month was no exception. Our speaker was State Senator Mimi Walters and we were extremely lucky to have her give her time to the Chamber in this busy pre election period. She was right to the point and explained the position of the Republican minority in the California Senate, she reviewed the major initiatives and her positions on them and took questions from an interested audience. Always respectful Ms. Walters even had a few kind words for our Governor! Classy.

Our Police Officer for the month was Brian Stroud a veteran officer with skills. He joins the 27 years worth of Monthly Plaques given to Police Officers over the years from the Tustin Chamber of Commerce and Tustin Awards. Started by the late Jack Schaeffer the Police Officer of the Month is one of our traditions that we all feel strongly is part of the fabric of the Tustin Chamber of Commerce.

Tustin Tiller Days – Chamber of the Corn

The Tustin Chamber participated in the Tustin Tiller Days carnival. Our Roasted Corn booth is always popular and we sold over a thousand ears of corn! As all of our events the membership and the Board provided the labor and had a great time doing it. Check out the pictures from Sunday, it was a beautiful day for a carnival!

We also hosted a Pancake breakfast that was well received by the attendees. We moved it this year to Peppertree Park to make it easier to get to. We served over 300 people a breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon.

Tustin Pilates Ribbon Cutting

The Chamber serves its membership from large corporations to small sole proprietorships. We are proud to welcome Tustin Pilates to our happy association. The Ribbon Cutting was a very nice event with good food and great surroundings. Located in the Tustin HIlls Raquet Club facility in Tustin Heights it is truly a relaxing and low stress environment.
